GodEtter
Now
The goals of this project is to reduce the amount of food the average household throws away. While also helping people save money when buying food. We aim to do this by giving people access to pantry/fridge/freezer contents easily on their phone. GodEtter is an app that can scan barcodes, saving it in your digital fridge, and giving you an overview of what you have, when you bought it and basic information on the product.
After graduating me and my web-developer friend continued our work on a previous university project to keep our skills sharp. This is also a project that gets very positive reactions when pitched. It is currently in a very early development stage. If you want to check out how it works now you can click this button. It works both on desktop and mobile.
Several changes were made from the first prototype. Initially the app was connected to a barcode scanner, to make the level of entry easier for using our solution we instead used the phone camera to scan. The previous app solution also had a recipe page, which we moved away from in this iteration to focus our efforts on making the inventory management experience better.
